Milan and Lubin are heading off to Great Barrier on Savoy Charters and the target is to find a big snapper for Lubin as this is still an unticked item on his list.
The weather is not superb, but there's always a calm bay to be found at Great Barrier where a berley trail can work its magic. And so it did...on a stingray. After a gentle release, the tender is put in the water, and Milan and Lubin head off for a skuting session along the steep drops.
The guys come empty handed back to the mothership and it seems that the snapper have turned super precious. Nothing takes their fancy, and Milan and Lubin work harder and harder, using all styles and tricks in the bag, just to get one! Meanwhile, all sorts of other species greets the deck.
Eventually, Milan and Lubin find the snapper spot and some decent snapper are landed on lures and the trusty skutes.
