Milan and Nathan have two days of incredible fishing: big snapper, huge trevally and the first ever known jumping kingfish!

Nathan has invented a secret snapper weapon and is keen to put it to the test on a sunrise fish in the middle of the Hauraki Gulf.

Milan and Nathan sets off to explore new fishing grounds around the Mercury Islands. A great straylining session for snapper makes the trip.

Landbased fishing in the mangroves brings us back to the basics of fishing, and very close to some trophy snapper in knee-deep water.

With the heavy rains and the Coromandel water all milky brown, fishing for kingfish was going to be very hard. So with the conditions we had, we decided to strayline for snapper.

The stretchy mono allows some strong knots but the thick quality demands extra attention when selecting which knot to use.

This time, we're in the pristine Far North straylining for snapper and successfully working the berley trail.
